In the municipality’s cleansing fleet, near-miss incidents during reversing in narrow streets could not be recorded. The crew working behind the vehicle sat in the driver’s blind spot.
Four blind spot cameras, a ten-channel recording unit and an audible-visual alarm unit were fitted to each vehicle. When a pedestrian is detected the driver is warned immediately in the cab.
